About Sammy the Saver

Sammy The Saver teaches children about financial literacy and financial literacy concepts through stories ranging from comic books to online narrated videos. Sammy the Saver revolves around 12-year-old Sammy and his friends Katrina and Carl. Sammy’s superpower is his ability to save people from making costly financial mistakes by educating them on how to make smarter decisions with their money.

Characters

Sammy

Sammy is the main character. He’s a smart kid who’s interested in building his own business empire. He is frugal and knows a lot about financial literacy and enjoys helping others. Sammy is not easily swayed into peer pressure and likes to stick to the goals and plans he sets. When he senses someone in danger of making a bad financial decision, he transforms into his alter-ego Sammy the Saver and steps in to save the day and teach a lesson.

Katrina

Katrina is usually the voice of reason and helps Sammy when he gets into sticky situations. Her family doesn’t have a lot of money, but she’s very entrepreneurial and runs her own profitable fashion-centric streaming channel. She thinks both Sammy and Carl are dorks who would be lost without her.

Cash Money Carl

Carl aka Cash Money Carl is flashy and has expensive tendencies – he also has a crush on Katrina and is often trying to impress her. His parents have that “new money”, and he often falls victim to peer pressure to be the flashiest, most well-liked, and popular person in school. He’s known to make a lighthearted joke or two at Sammy’s expense, but never takes things too far. Sammy and Katrina often intervene to help Carl when he gets into financial trouble.

The Spendthrift

Spendthrifts exist all throughout the world of Sammy The Saver and they are his arch enemy. The Spendthrift is that voice in your head that encourages you to make bad financial decisions. Anyone can catch a spendthrift and it’s usually clear when someone has been possessed by a spendthrift by the poor financial decisions they make. Being possessed by a spendthrift for too long can lead to generational curses.
